About Calcasieu Teachers & Employees Credit Union:
When you join Calcasieu Teachers & Employees Credit Union, you become one of our most important people in the credit union – an OWNER! This means that when we make a decision at the credit union, we think about you first.
Originally chartered in October 1954, Calcasieu Teachers & Employees Credit Union opened it’s doors with $1,200. We were born out of a vision of Mr. Joel Jones and 22 fellow teachers of the Calcasieu Parish School Board. The original Board of Directors was comprised of: Joel L Jones (President), Grace Cotey (Vice-President), Marquerite Bozeman (Secretary/Treasurer), Roy C Collins, S.S. Andrews, Rex H Smelser, and S.S. Quine.
Since 1954, we have slowly grown our products and services to members of all schools in Calcasieu Parish, as well anyone who lives, works, or worships in Calcasieu Parish. We offer higher dividend rates on savings accounts and lower interest rates on loans in an effort to bring excellent personal service and to help improve the lives of our members.
